Pet Adoptions
These pets are available for adoption from Columbia County Animal Services. For more information, call (706) 541-4077 or visit www.columbiacountyga.gov and follow the links to Animal Services. Adult animals cost $25 to adopt, and puppies and kittens cost $20. Animals must be spayed or neutered. Visitors must wear closed-in shoes to visit the kennel area, which is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. The facility is at 6337 Columbia Road in Appling.

Fishing Tournament
The 21st annual American Bass Anglers Military Team Bass Championship will be held May 5-7 at Clark's Hill Lake. The tournament will run out of Wildwood Park. Any active duty military or U.S. Coast Guard member, Department of Defense civilian, retired military member, honorably discharged veteran, military family members at least 16 years of age, and Department of Defense contractors are eligible to participate.
