The Army Corps of Engineers is accepting real Christmas trees, not artificial trees, for recycling through Wednesday at Riverside Middle School on Furys Ferry Road in Evans.
Caregiver series

Shoe donations
Augusta-area podiatrists are collecting new and used shoes to be distributed to those in need in the community. Donations may be delivered to any area podiatrist's office through Friday.
Lunch program
The Alzheimer's Association and the MCG Memory Disorder Clinic will present a free lunch program, Clinical Trials and Research: TrialMatch, at noon Jan. 11 at the MCG Alumni Center, 919 15th St. Seating is limited. Reservations are due by noon Jan. 10 by calling (706) 731-9060.
Ice Bowl
The annual Disc Golf Ice Bowl, to benefit Golden Harvest Food Bank, will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 15 at Patriots Park. The entry fee is $20 and a donation of nonperishable canned goods. A chili cookoff lunch and silent auction will follow. Call Jimmy Padgett at (706) 860-9511.
Scholarships
