Christmas in Columbia County
An a cappella ensemble from Harlem High School performed holiday songs Dec. 17 for travelers at the Augusta Regional Airport. The after-school choral group En Voc is directed by Phillip Streetman, who is assisted by Roy Lewis. The program is sponsored by Family Connections. The ensemble was costumed by the Harlem Drama Department and Costumes by Michelle. The group has performed several times and is preparing to appear this spring with Broadway performers Jared and Lindsay Bradshaw. Jared is currently touring with Jersey Boys , and Lindsay is with Wicked on Broadway. The group will present Cotton Patch Gospel at Harlem High School April 27-30.[CAPTION] Cathie Newsome was named Employee of the Year at the resident/ staff Christmas party at Brandon Wilde on Dec. 10. On Vacation
Corky and Debbie Holloway of Evans recently visited Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Maarten on an Eastern Caribbean Cruise. They renewed their wedding vows on the ship and enjoyed everything their "dream vacation" offered.

Socks for Seniors
University Hospital dietetic intern Lauren White started the Socks for Seniors program while completing a community nutrition rotation at the CSRA Area Agency on Aging. With other interns, businesses and volunteers, White collected 45 bags with socks and treats for Columbia County Senior Center participants at Euchee Creek. She also collected a cash donation and filled socks for the homebound to give to the Harlem Senior Center.
