New 4-H officers
The Columbia County 4-H Council, composed of the officers of all the 4-H Clubs in the county, held its organization meeting for the new year at the courthouse in Appling.
Council officers for the new year are as follows: President, Joe Dozier; Girls Vice President, Frandith Heath; Boys Vice President, John Rhodes Jr.; Secretary, Richmond Harriss; Treasurer, Edna Ruth Marshall; and Reporter, Lewis Whitaker.
The Council's plans for the year include two barbecue suppers at which they plan to make enough money to finance the program for the year.
