The 2010 Grovetown High School Baseball Christmas Camp will be held Dec. 20-21 at the school's baseball field. The camp for children in kindergarten through eighth grade costs $30 and will run from 9 a.m. until noon. Registration is available in advance through the school. Those interested can register on the day of the camp starting at 8 a.m. Each participant needs to bring baseball shoes, baseball pants, a glove and a bat. Grovetown baseball staff and players will give detailed instruction on all aspects of the game of baseball. Team Power Basketball will hold its TP Christmas ALL-N-ONE 2010 Basketball Camp on Dec. 20-23 and Dec. 27-30. The camp for boys and girls ages 5-17 will be held at Patriots Park gym from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The cost is $105 per child and includes lunch. The CSRA Heat Volleyball Club will hold a series of volleyball skills clinics on Sunday afternoons from Jan. 9 through March 27 at the Augusta Prep gym. The clinics are for girls from Grades 4-11 (some younger girls will be accepted). Girls will be divided up into appropriate skill levels. The cost for attending the clinics is $225. Lakeside High School's swim/dive team is selling the inaugural LHS High School Christmas Ornament. It is a standard ornament size in matte finish maroon embossed in silver with the LHS panther paw and the dates "2010-2011" surrounded by holly garland and ribbon inscribed with "Lakeside Panthers." Rec league signups
Early registration is open for boys and girls ages 4-15 for Martinez-Evans Little League's baseball leagues for the 2011 season. Leagues include Wee Ball (4 years old); Tee-Ball (5-6); Coach Pitch (6 with Tee-Ball experience, 7 without experience); Machine Pitch (7-8); Minors/Majors (9-12); and Junior (13-15). Boating safety
The Savannah River Sail and Power Squadron conducts free vessel safety checks. These are checks of your boat to verify that it has the required safety equipment and documentation.
