Christmas service
Columbia County's Community Candlelight Christmas Service, held by Mosaic United Methodist Church, will be at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 23 at the Columbia County Amphitheater. Ornament sale

Parents' night out
Marshall Family Y will hold a free Parent's Night Out for children of deployed service members from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday. The service is for children 2 to 12. Go to www.thefamilyy.org.
Gardening series
The Columbia County Cooperative Extension Service's Gardening at Lunch series with Extension Agent Charles Phillips at the Columbia County Library in Evans continues at 12:10 p.m. Dec. 1. The topic is garden jobs for the month. Call (706) 868-3413.
Tree lighting
Christmas in America, the lighting of the Columbia County Christmas Tree, will be held at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Columbia County Amphitheater behind the library in Evans.
Holiday House
Arts and crafts vendors will be available at Child Enrichment's Holiday House, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Riverwood Plantation barn. Admission is a monetary donation or a new toy for foster children. For information, call Mandy Fox at (706) 737-4631.
