This is in regard to the political cartoon in the Nov. 14 News-Times. I'm glad to see that the Columbia County Mobile Operations Center (MOC) is being recognized. However, I was a little disappointed in the "flavor" of the cartoon.

Grant to fund major upgrade of mobile operations center
Columbia County's Mobile Operations Center will soon receive its first major overhaul. The Georgia Emergency Management Agency recently awarded the county a $172,000 grant in Homeland Security funds to upgrade communication systems on the 40-foot vehicle.

Misting rain at the grand opening of the Columbia County Fall Fair wasn't a bad omen after all. The rain stayed away after the gates opened Nov. 4, leaving fair patrons 10 days of fair-weather fun and a record-breaking year for fair organizers.

A Grovetown woman died in a three-vehicle wreck Saturday on Washington Road in Evans.
