If you're already stressing about what to buy the tech-junkie on your Christmas list, the Columbia County Library is offering some guidance.

Library volunteer Alex Cooper helped a group of people navigate the maze of new technological gizmos recently in the Guide to Gadget Gifts seminar. He'll present the information session again at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Library in Evans.

"There's so many things out there," said Cooper, an admitted tech junkie and an online technology teacher for Baker College.

In his seminar, Cooper discusses many new and popular devices and services, including laptop computers and netbooks, digital cameras, electronic book readers, flash and portable hard drives, GPS units, iPads, iPods and MP3 players and other new items, such as Eye-Fi and Personal Cloud.

Cooper leads the layman through the advantages, disadvantages and capabilities of each device in hopes of helping people choose the right gift for every techie.

Advanced registration at the Evans library reference desk is recommended.
