Lakeside High School's swim/dive team is selling the inaugural LHS High School Christmas Ornament. It is a standard ornament size in matte finish maroon embossed in silver with the LHS panther paw and the dates "2010-2011" surrounded by holly garland and ribbon inscribed with "Lakeside Panthers." The ornaments sell for $10 each. Interested parties can contact the Lakeside High School Splash Club at panthersplash@gmail.com.

Basketball

Team Power AAU Basketball will hold its TP Thanksgiving All-In-One 2010 Basketball Camp Nov. 22-24 for boys and girls ages 5-15 at Patriots Park. Players sought

Golf tournaments

The Evans High School baseball team will hold its annual golf tournament today at Gordon Lakes Golf Club. The event will start at 11 a.m. with lunch, followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The entry fee is $60 per player or $240 per four-man team. Hole sponsorships are available for $100 per hole. The Fourth Annual Columbia County Junior Golf Championships will be held Saturday and Sunday at Bartram Trail Golf Club. The tournament is free for all boys and girls ages 6-18 residing in Columbia County. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. For information or to register, call the club at (706) 210-4681.

Boating safety

The Savannah River Sail and Power Squadron (SRSPS) is conducting free vessel safety checks. These are checks of your boat to verify that it has the required safety equipment and documentation.
