Carpenter gets his first win

Gordon Park drew 77 competitors in seven divisions Saturday night.

Columbia County Late Model driver Brandon Carpenter led flag to flag to pick up his first Crate Late Model win of the season.

Post-race technical inspection disqualified four of the 19 Super Street racers, with Chris Shaw winning the division.

Andy Stewart won in a field of 20 Stock V8 cars, while Clint Brogdon topped the field in Super Stock 4.

In the Road Warrior division, Charles Middleton made it two victories in a row, while Ben Newsome won in the Extreme 4 division and Crystal Corey took the checkered flag in the Powder Puff division.

All terrain and motocross will be racing at Gordon Park this weekend.

The final scheduled car race of the season will be held Oct. 30. Special races might be held in November.
