Embry-Riddle grad

Aaron Holland graduated in May from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a bachelor of science degree in research meteorology. He also was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the Air Force. He began pilot training in September. Aaron is a 2005 graduate of Harlem High and an Eagle Scout. He is the son of Robert and Diane Holland of Harlem.
UGA honor
Carter Pierce Timmerman, of Martinez. has been recognized as a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda, a national leadership and honors organization at the University of Georgia. Carter is the son of Rawl and Julie Timmerman.
Tulane Dean's List
Brittany Cropper, a 2010 graduate of Augusta Preparatory Day School, received academic honors at Tulane University by making the Dean's List for the spring 2010 semester. She has dual majors in Public Health and Spanish.

Thomas Bertrand, of Grovetown, was awarded a 2 2 bachelor in business administration; Sandra Casemere, of Grovetown, was awarded an associate of applied science in health sciences; Cherelle Farrow, of Grovetown, was awarded a 2 2 bachelor in management; Rosalyn Bussey, of Augusta, was awarded a bachelor of science in nursing; Dana L. Otero, of Augusta, was awarded an associate of applied science in criminal justice.
Wesleyan award
Augusta Preparatory Day School student Erin Brousseau has received the Wesleyan First Award from Wesleyan College in Macon. The award was presented by Shannon Dunavan, a Wesleyan alumna and resident of Augusta. Sponsored by the Wesleyan College Alumnae Association, the Wesleyan First Award is given to a high school sophomore girl who is active in community service and who has strong leadership and academic potential, with a minimum GPA of 3.0. The award includes a book and the Wesleyan First Scholarship, valued at $5,000 per year if the student attends Wesleyan College.
Clayton State Dean's List
Kimberly Ann Leeds, of Martinez, was named to the summer 2010 Dean's List at Clayton State University.
Baylor graduates
The following students were awarded degrees at Baylor University commencement exercises held Aug. 14: Walter Lewis Hawkins Jr., of Evans, received a master of business administration and a master of health care administration degree; Rodney Harwood Jones, of Evans, received a master of business administration and a master of health care administration degree; and Daniel Joseph Matta, of Martinez, received a doctor of physical therapy degree.
Johns Hopkins Dean's List
Raford Bussey of Martinez, who is majoring in writing seminars, was named to the Dean's List for academic excellence for the spring 2010 semester at Johns Hopkins University. He will graduate in May. He is the son of Raford Bussey and attended Augusta Preparatory Day School in Martinez.
Georgia Southern President's List
The following local students were named to the 2010 summer semester President's List at Georgia Southern University: William T. Beeson, of Martinez; Casey M. Brush, of Grovetown; Anna Kelley Polatty and Zachary I. Slone, both of Evans.

The following local students were named to the 2010 summer semester Dean's List at Georgia Southern University: Jordan P. Belcher, Lashaunda B. Garrett and Kristin E. Whitfield, all of Grovetown; Chaundra B. Ealey and David B. Eller, both of Martinez; Lauren E. Heard and Michelle R. Wise, both of Evans.

Kelli Marie Cox, of Grovetown, majoring in education specialist, instructional technology, graduated from Valdosta State University August 2010.
Westminster AP scholar awards
Twenty-two Westminster Schools of Augusta students and recent graduates earned various levels of AP scholar awards based on performance on AP exams taken last spring. AP scholar awards : Allison Blanchard, Alyssa Cameron, Charles Cates, Joshua Coleman, Grace Halverson, Isaac Halverson, Emily Harless, Jamison Holgate, Sharon Holland, Emily Hood, Katelyn Rimer, Maggie Snyder, Drew Speese and Natalie Walters. AP Scholar with Honor awards : Aaron Harris and Will McCartney. AP Scholar with Distinction awards : Michael Bone, Cassie Hartmann, Robert MacDonell, Emily Mecredy, McCamy Pruitt and Sarah Walters.
Kennesaw scholar
Cullen Ryan Lawson, of Evans, has received the Presidential Scholar recognition for the spring and summer semester at Kennesaw State University. He is a finance major in the Coles College of Business. He will graduate in the spring of 2011 and hopes to attend law school.
Augusta Christian AP scholar awards
Six students at Augusta Christian Schools have earned AP scholar awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on AP exams.
Clayton Perry qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. Perry also received the 2010 Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship and is attending Georgia Tech.
Raymond Hoefs qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.
Kadie Cheeks, Brant Herzwurm, Evan Vintson and Jenna West qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP exams with scores of 3 or higher.
