UNC Dean's List
Anne Randall Hatcher , a romance languages major and Hema Kondur , a chemistry major, both of Martinez, have been named to the spring 2010 Dean's List at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

Katharine Louise Diehl of Evans, graduated this spring 2010 with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

Renee Marie Robbins-Yonkin of Grovetown, a nursing major, has been named to the spring 2010 Dean's List at Utica College.
ASU Dean's List
Becky Brickhouse of Appling, has been named to the spring 2010 Dean's List at Augusta Technical College for academic achievement.
Penn State graduate
Henry V. Garma of Evans graduated from Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, during its spring commencement on May 15, 2010. Garma earned a master of project management.
Youth Challenge graduates
Columbia County teens were among a class of more than 200 to graduate and earn their GED from the Fort Stewart Youth Challenge Academy program on June 19 at commencement ceremonies held at the Macon Municipal Auditorium. Among the 200 were Breanna Dudley, Jackson Widener and William Hendrix of Evans; Jamar Benson of Augusta; Aubrey Burkhalter and Heardrick Maryland of Grovetown; and Justin Baker of Harlem.
Virginia Tech degrees
The following Virginia Tech students were among those honored at the university's spring commencement ceremony held May 14, 2010, in Lane Stadium.: Nathan Whitelaw of Evans, received a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering degree in mechanical engineering from the College of Engineering; and Bailee Roach of Martinez, received a bachelor of science in chemical engineering degree summa cum laude in chemical engineering from the College of Engineering.

Dean's List
Brian Maleck of Martinez, whose major is civil engineering, has been named to the Dean' List for the spring 2010 semester at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Virginia Tech Commandant's List
Robert Edwards of Evans, was named to the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets Commandant's List for the spring 2010 semester. Edwards, an Air Force cadet, is a senior majoring in French in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.
Excelsior College graduates
Savannah Cannon Praymou of Evans, has earned a master of business administration, managing in the global economy; Gloria J. Hamilton of Evans, has earned a bachelor of science; Tonia Lynn Manley of Grovetown, has earned an associate in science in nursing.
West Point opportunity
Richard H. Mersereau of Evans, a junior at Greenbrier High School was selected to be among 1,100 attendees at West Point's prestigious Summer Leaders Seminar. The one-week seminar offers outstanding high school juniors the opportunity of experience life at West Point, NY.
Lee University Dean's List
Sarah Delotelle , of Fishers, IN was named to the Dean's List at Lee University for the spring 2010 semester. Sarah is the granddaughter of Wen and Bev Ussery of Martinez.
Scholarships for Military Children recipient
Cameron Guthrie of Evans, is a recipient of a $1,500 college scholarship awarded at Fort Gordon. Cameron is enrolled, or plans to enroll at Georgia Tech. Cameron's school and community activities include varsity soccer, varsity track and field, chorus, math club and National Honor Society. Cameron's parents are Rae Lynne and Mike Guthie.
Columbia College graduate
Catherine Middleton Holmes of Evans, received a master of education in divergent learning at commencement ceremonies held August 8, 2010 from Columbia College.
UGA Scholar
Kelly Erin Bain of Evans, has been named a Presidential Scholar in recognition of earning a 4.0 grade point average for the summer semester 2010 at the University of Georgia. Kelly is in the top 2% of students enrolled in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
Trinity University graduate
Christina Kious of Evans, has graduated from Trinity University with a bachelor of science, cum laude at their May 15, 2010 commencement exercises.
ABAC President's List
Cory Hillman of Grovetown, has been named to the President's List at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College with a 4.0 grade point average for the summer 2010 semester.
GSU graduate
Diandre R. Ussery of Martinez, graduated cum laude from Georgia Southern University May 20, 2010 with a bachelor of science in public relations. She was also a member of the 2010 President's List. She is the daughter of Floyd and Venessa Ussery of Martinez.
Sigma Alpha Lambda honor
Christopher Brannen of Appling, has recently become recognized as a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda, National Leadership and Honors Organization at the University of Georgia.
Matthew Patrick Wehman of Martinez, has recently become recognized as a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda, National Leadership and Honors Organization at the Clemson University.

Otero of Augusta, was awarded an associate of applied science in criminal justice.
Wesleyan College Award recipent
Augusta Preparatory Day School student Erin Brousseau has received the Wesleyan First Award from Wesleyan College in Macon. The award was presented by Shannon Dunavan, a Wesleyan alumna and resident of Augusta. Sponsored by the Wesleyan College Alumnae Association, the Wesleyan First Award is given to a high school sophomore girl who is active in community service and who has strong leadership and academic potential, with a minimum GPA of 3.0. The award includes a book and the Wesleyan First Scholarship, valued at $5,000.00 per year if the student attends Wesleyan College.
Clayton State Dean's List
Kimberly Ann Leeds of Martinez, was named to the summer 2010 Dean's List at Clayton State University. Students must enroll in a minimum of nine credit hours and maintain a grade point average of 3.6 or higher to be eligible for the Dean's List.
Baylor graduates
The following students were awarded degrees at Baylor University commencement exercises held Aug. 14, 2010: Walter Lewis Hawkins, Jr. of Evans, received a master of business administration and a master of health care administration degree; Rodney Harwood Jones of Evans, received a master of business administration and a master of health care administration degree; and Daniel Joseph Matta of Martinez, received a doctor of physical therapy degree.
Johns Hopkins Dean's List
Raford Bussey of Martinez, who is majoring in writing seminars, was named to the Dean's list for academic excellence for the spring 2010 semester at The Johns Hopkins University. He will graduate in May 2011. He is the son of Raford Bussey and attended Augusta Preparatory Day School in Martinez.
GSU President's List
The following local students were named to the 2010 summer semester President's List at Georgia Southern University: William T. Beeson of Martinez; Casey M. Brush of Grovetown; Anna Kelley Polatty and Zachary I. Slone, both of Evans.
