It's time to find a new favorite wine at the fifth annual CoCo Wine Festival.
//
The festival will be an afternoon of wine, jazz and roses. It is held in conjunction with the 48th annual Augusta Rose Show.
"It benefits both groups," said Pat Goodwin, the event coordinator. "Whether you are into either one, it is a great event. ... It is an upscale setting allowing people to sample wonderful wines, talk to those distributors, meet volunteers and meet people and enjoy the food."
The festival will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Savannah Rapids Pavilion in Martinez.
It will feature about 200 wines and about 20 beers, which are new to the festival, as well as food from area restaurants, including Anna's Edibles, Bo Daddy's American Grille, 2020 Events, Luciana's Taste of Italy, Oliv'a Italian Restaurant, Casablanca and La Maison.
"There will be a little bit more choice and selection," Goodwin said. "You may find a new all-time favorite for an amount of money you'd be surprised at."
Entertainment will be provided by Karen Gordon and Garden City Jazz.
Advance tickets cost $30 and can be purchased from The Vineyard Wine Market, 4414 Evans to Locks Road, Evans, and Ninth Street Wine Market, 12 James Brown Blvd., Augusta.
Tickets at the door cost $35, $15 for designated drivers.
Last year, proceeds from the event went to the Columbia County Humane Society. Profits this year benefit the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research and awareness.
