Fair pageant

Writers meet

CSRA Writers will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Borders Books, 257 Robert C. Daniel Jr. Parkway. Writers are invited to bring eight copies of a manuscript to be critiqued. Call Steve Fox at (706) 836-7315.

Thrift clearance

Summer clothing at the Helping Hands Thrift Store, operated by the Columbia County Foundation for Children at 6347 Columbia Road, will be on sale at 50 cents per item Tuesday through Oct. 7. The store is open from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first Saturday each month. Call (706) 541-2849.

Sierra Club
