People should listen to other's beliefs, shouldn't try to change them

I totally agree with Barry Paschal's column Sept. 12, "Can't we all just get along?"

I have had that attitude all of my life and even extend to politics and other matters where disagreement could exist based primarily on belief.

Although I am now 77, I have never tried to change anyone's beliefs based on my own. I will listen to theirs without response. People have always disagreed and always will, sometimes extending it to fights or war.

As others have said: Why are we looking for life on other planets when we can't get along with people on Earth?
