Church series

Mosaic United Methodist Church in September will hold two events and a series to address physical, emotional and spiritual health: Dr. Ron Eaker will speak at 9:30 and 11 a.m. today about getting healthy God's way; Dr. Warren Lathem will discuss his struggles with weight and addiction at 9:30 and 11 a.m. Sept. 19; and starting Thursday, Lori Newton will lead a 13-week Sharing Life in Motion (SLIM) program of nutrition and exercise. Junior Board

College night

High school students will have an opportunity to meet recruiters from more than 150 colleges and universities and win scholarships totaling approximately $17,000 at CSRA College Night, 5 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Augusta's James Brown Arena. Law academy

Applications are being accepted for the Columbia County Sheriff's Office Citizen's Law Enforcement Academy, which begins Thursday and is offered free each Thursday from 6:30-9:30 p.m. for 10 weeks. Diabetes info

Registered nurse Robin Petry will present a free diabetes information dinner program from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Belair Conference Center, 4083 Singh Lane. Reservations are required at www.universityhealth.org/calendar or by calling (706) 828-2502.

Food seminar
