I am writing to ask the residents of Columbia County's District 2 to vote for Kristi Baker as their next Board of Education representative.
//
I have known Kristi the past 12 years, since our sons were in first grade together at Martinez Elementary School. This year they are seniors at Evans High. Kristi and her husband, Daryn, also have a freshman son at Evans High and a seventh-grade daughter at Evans Middle.
For the past 12 years, I have witnessed Kristi work tirelessly behind the scenes, volunteering in the classrooms and school offices and serving on the Superintendent's Parent Advisory Committee, school councils at Martinez Elementary, Evans Middle and Evans High, and on the PTSO boards of Martinez Elementary and Evans Middle. She has served as room mom, raised money for the schools, and chaperoned more field trips than you can imagine.
Kristi has dual degrees in nursing and physical therapy, and works part time at a local health care facility. She is very active with a local soccer club where her son plays. She served on the Board of Directors for her neighborhood association for 10-plus years. In short, Kristi is a hard worker and is passionate about her family and community.
Kristi is running for the Columbia County Board of Education for the right reasons. She cares deeply about the education of all the children in Columbia County.
You can depend on Kristi to not just rubber stamp a plan, but to study its cost and effectiveness for our school system as a whole. Kristi Baker will help implement positive outcomes for the schools not only in our district, but for our county as a whole.
