The girls cross country squad at Lakeside High School is now a perfect 2-for-2 this season.

After winning the season-opening meet at Blanchard Woods Park, Lakeside won the girls division in Saturday morning's Bob Blastow Early Bird Invitational 5K in Douglasville, Ga., beating 32 teams by a sizeable margin.
Lakeside finished with 52 points, while Lakeside-DeKalb was second with 145 points.
Like her team, Anna Bowles has two victories in two races. She won in a time of 18:07, eight seconds ahead of fellow Lakeside senior Katie Townsend in second place.
Sarah Bowles was fifth in 18:45, Erin Payne 15th in 19:53, Jasmine Payne 29th in 20:41, Jenny Lind 48th in 21:12 and Lara Way 64th in 21:43.
For the Lakeside boys team, junior Sid Vaughn finished fourth in a school record of 15:53. He and senior Shane Wilson (16:42 for 22nd place) led Lakeside to a fourth-place finish in the boys division.
Greenbrier's boys squad was ninth, led by junior Chris Wilder's sixth-place finish in 15:57. Junior Brandon Coombs was 15th in 16:31.
The Greenbrier girls team finished 22nd in the 33-team field. Senior Gabby Lesieur finished in 20:44, good for 31st place.
