GA Tech Dean's List

Samford Dean's List

Jacqueline Giovino Dulock, of Martinez, was named to the dean's list for the spring 2010 semester at Samford University's Cumberland School of Law.

Wesleyan graduate

Lauren Kay Elser graduated from Wesleyan College on May 15, 2010, earning a bachelor of arts degree with a major in political science and a minor in music. Lauren, a dean's scholar and vice president of her class, played for the Pioneer volleyball team. Lauren is the daughter of Rosemary and Jim Chandler, of Evans, and Fred and Maria Elser, of Martinez, and is a graduate of Greenbrier High.

Gardner-Webb

Ivana C. Hughes and Brody R. McMorris , both of Evans, were named to the honor roll for the 2010 spring semester at Gardner-Webb University.

Shawnee State

Timothy Steflik of Evans and a history major, was named to the spring 2010 dean's list at Shawnee State University.

Emory University

Cadet Daniel L. Welsh of Evans, received a bachelor of arts degree in economics/business and with a minor in writing on May 16. Graduating honors include Distinguished Graduate. Welsh's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Michael L. Welsh.

Chick-fil-A awards

Chick-fil-A team members John Thomas Powell from Evans and Jacob Cady from Martinez are the newest recipients of the chain's 37-year-old national Leadership Scholarship program. Powell and Cady received the $1,000 scholarships from Chick-fil-A franchised operator John Powell, Washington Road. Powell is studying nursing at Augusta State University and Cady is studying broadcasting media from North Greenville University.

GCSU President's List

The following students were named to the 2010 Spring President's List at Georgia College--Milledgeville: Caro Ashe and Kristen Newman , both of Evans; Gisela Colon-Olivieri, John-Francis Hennecken and Kristen Vick , all of Martinez.

Sarah Skidmore of Martinez, has been named to the Dean's List at Rockhurst University for the spring 2010 semester.

Freed-Hardeman honors, degree

Rachel Ryan of Evans, graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in English in June, 2010.

Lee University Dean's List

Paige Lutes of Martinez and Wesley Lutes of Martinez, were named to the spring 2010 Dean's List at Lee University. Paige is the daughter of Jason and Nancy Lutes of Martinez and is a 2006 graduate of Lakeside High School. Wesley is the son of Jason and Nancy Lutes of Martinez and is a 2006 graduate of Lakeside High School.

SCAD graduates/p>

Lyle Warren Nagy of Evans, earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in furniture and Corey Russell Vaughan of Evans, earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in industrial design from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Emmanuel College Dean's List

Sarah Stokely of Martinez, has been named to the Dean's List at Emmanuel College, Franklin Springs, Georgia, for the spring semester of the 2009-2010 academic year.

Nebraska Dean's List

William Eastman of Martinez, has been named to the spring 2010 semester Dean's List at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Northcentral University degrees

Isaac Hammond of Evans, has graduated with a master of business administration degree with a specialization in organizational leadership from Northcentral University; and Andrew Gibson of Grovetown, has graduated with a master of business administration degree with a specialization in organizational leadership from Northcentral University.

UNC Dean's List

Anne Randall Hatcher , a romance languages major and Hema Kondur , a chemistry major, both of Martinez, have been named to the spring 2010 Dean's List at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

Katharine Louise Diehl of Evans, graduated this spring 2010 with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

Utica Dean's List

Renee Marie Robbins-Yonkin of Grovetown, a nursing major, has been named to the spring 2010 Dean's List at Utica College.

ASU Dean's List

Becky Brickhouse of Appling, has been named to the spring 2010 Dean's List at Augusta Technical College for academic achievement.

Penn State graduate

Henry V. Garma of Evans graduated from Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, during its spring commencement on May 15, 2010. Garma earned a master of project management.

Youth Challenge graduates

Columbia County teens were among a class of more than 200 to graduate and earn their GED from the Fort Stewart Youth Challenge Academy program on June 19 at commencement ceremonies held at the Macon Municipal Auditorium. Among the 200 were Breanna Dudley, Jackson Widener and William Hendrix of Evans; Jamar Benson of Augusta; Aubrey Burkhalter and Heardrick Maryland of Grovetown; and Justin Baker of Harlem.

Virginia Tech degrees

The following Virginia Tech students were among those honored at the university's spring commencement ceremony held May 14, 2010, in Lane Stadium.: Nathan Whitelaw of Evans, received a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering degree in mechanical engineering from the College of Engineering; and Bailee Roach of Martinez, received a bachelor of science in chemical engineering degree summa cum laude in chemical engineering from the College of Engineering.

Dean's List

Brian Maleck of Martinez, whose major is civil engineering, has been named to the Dean' List for the spring 2010 semester at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Virginia Tech Commandant's List

Robert Edwards of Evans, was named to the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets Commandant's List for the spring 2010 semester. Edwards, an Air Force cadet, is a senior majoring in French in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.

Savannah Cannon Praymou of Evans, has earned a master of business administration, managing in the global economy; Gloria J. Hamilton of Evans, has earned a bachelor of science; Tonia Lynn Manley of Grovetown, has earned an associate in science in nursing.
