Familes on Intermediate Road were overlooked when water lines came

Posted: Wednesday, August 25, 2010

I am one of those "few" families that live on Intermediate Road. After our very short road was finally paved, mostly due to school buses short-cutting through, we watched as the water lines approached and were dismayed when everyone on Louisville and Wrightsboro roads around us got water while Intermediate Road was overlooked.

The county seemingly did not realize that there were so many of us waiting for water. If we were out on a lengthy dirt road I could see us continuing to wait for years, but we are right across the street from the rear entrance of an elementary school, close to the Bessie Thomas Community Center and a county library.

Don't make us feel like we got something special when we were never given the time of day when the water first came down Wrightsboro.

Sixteen out of the 19 lots have agreed to tap on and will add to the overall good of the county water utility in taxes and fees.
