Why are your editorials about this Facebook story, and not the horrendous murders, robberies, home invasions and so forth taking place in Richmond, Columbia and Aiken counties?
What Barry Paschal, The Chronicle, and the broadcast media are doing with this story has become bullying of the highest form.
Barry Paschal's wife is an elementary school principal in Martinez. Obviously, his family has close ties to the Columbia County school system. If Paschal is going to use his column to address this story, then he should let the general public know of his ties to the school system so that we will know he might be biased in his opinion about this.
Roger Bonsant is a very caring young man with a severely disabled sister in special ed at Lakeside High School. I wonder if the powers that be who keep pushing this media attention are even aware of that since they are trying to make this seem that Roger has something against special ed students. ... Roger has helped take care of his sister from a very young age. She is a year older that he is. He has helped with her since he was a toddler, playing with her and since adolescence has been helping with whatever needs to be done whenever he could.
... If Roger did this Facebook page, it was out of an abundance of sympathy for this special ed teacher and all special ed teachers that are true heroes every day in the classroom.
Roger is being hanged from the highest tree and left swinging in the wind instead of being innocent until found guilty. You are trying to slaughter him in the court of public opinion.
Shame on you. Shame on all of you!
