UGA law degrees

The following three local residents received juris doctor degrees from the School of Law at the University of Georgia on May 15:

John Stephen Albright , son of Bob and Barbara Albright, of Evans; Mareasa Fortunato , daughter of Steve and Julie Fortunato, of Martinez; Andrew Alexander Murdison , son of Kenneth and Sarah Elizabeth (Betts) Murdison, of Martinez.

Washington and Lee degree

Bena M. Tshishiku, of Martinez, received the bachelor of science degree from Washington and Lee University on May 27, and received honor roll status. Tshishiku majored in mathematics. Tshishiku graduated summa cum laude. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene M. Tshishiku, of Martinez.

Davidson graduate

Rachel R. Marks, of Evans, graduated from Davidson College on May 16. She is a studio art major with concentration in premedical studies and earned the bachelor of arts degree magna cum laude. After graduation, Marks plans to work as a technician in a medical office in Augusta while applying for medical school. Marks is the daughter of Dr. Stuart and Susan Marks and is a graduate of Augusta Preparatory Day School.

Berry College Dean's List

The following local residents were named to the Dean's List at Berry College for the spring semester: Katy Haney, of Evans; Dana Wenger, of Martinez; Laura Smolley, of Harlem; and Lara Thompson, of Martinez.

NSHSS award

William Sessions, of Martinez, was selected for the $1,000 National Society of High School Scholars award. He was among 12,000 applicants recognized for excellence in academics, leadership and community service and was invited to the NSHSS recognition ceremony in Washington, D.C.

GSWSU Dean's List

Christopher P. Hall, of Evans, has been named to the spring Dean's List at Georgia Southwestern State University.

GSWSU graduate

Andrew J. Robinson, of Evans, graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University in the spring semester.

Wisconsin-Madison graduate

Darci Kristen Kerzan, of Martinez, has graduated with a doctor of pharmacy degree and also was named to the spring Dean's List at The University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Pharmacy.

Leadership All-Star recognition

Lillian Zamecnik, of Evans, was recognized as a Leadership All-Star on April 21 by The Case Western Reserve University Interfraternity Congress and Panhellenic Council. Zamecnik, a junior member of Delta Gamma sorority, is majoring in management with a concentration in marketing.

Northeastern Dean's List

The following students were named to the Northeastern University's Dean's List for the spring semester: Sarika Patel, of Martinez, majoring in pharmacy; and, Judith Chang, of Martinez, majoring in behavioral neuroscience.

Darton College Merit List

Casity B. Smith, of Evans, was named to the Merit List at Darton College for the spring semester.
