So, The News-Times has finally shown its true colors, hence B.J. Wood's "cartoon" on the editorial page on Aug. 11.

To equate the relationship of two loving, caring, consenting adults with bestiality is immature at best, and downright vile and ignorant at worst. What's next? A cartoon extolling the virtues of the Klan?

Hate is hate, no matter which group you throw it at.

I was absolutely disheartened and disgusted to see B.J. Wood's Aug. 11 editorial cartoon, which implied that beastiality is somehow similar to homosexuality.

This cartoon was offensive on many levels. You allowed your paper, albeit an opinion piece, to denigrate both marriage and homosexuality. I found your inclusion of such a "cartoon" vile, and I hope that you will not continue to spread such ignorance.

Re the Aug. 11 cartoon: Oh, now I get it - nice self-portrait, B.J. Wood!

I have no idea whose bright idea it was to publish B.J. Wood's Aug. 11 cartoon about gay (marriage) being legal in California with the farmer and the cow, but y'all are idiots! How can you even compare the lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender community to that?

It's people like you that make me sick. I have never in my life been so embarrassed to say that I am a resident of Columbia County! That is a disgrace!

We have every right to express our love for our partners just as much as anyone else. I am just so sick of hearing all of this hatred toward the LGBT community.

What ever happened to love and loving one another?

I am utterly disgusted and offended by B.J. Wood's editorial cartoon that was run on Aug. 11. How dare you publish something like that? In what skewed dimension do you live, where running that cartoon is OK?

Likening same-sex marriage to bestiality is not only sick and offensive to adults, but it teaches our children that this line of thinking is acceptable when it absolutely is not.

Shame on you! ...
