One of Columbia County's older restaurants is on the market.

A KW Commercial real estate sign has appeared in front of the Side Track Bar and Grill at 4029 Washington Road in recent weeks. The restaurant was previously listed for sale by owner Chuck Large.

"The owner is moving to Texas," said broker Damien Lanclos, who is handling the listing. "His wife got a job (there) ... so there's no distress associated with the sale."

The building housed Brown's Feed and Seed until 1982, when it moved to a larger location on Washington Road. The restaurant opened a year later and has undergone extensive renovations since 1998.

The 4,200-square-foot restaurant is on a half-acre lot in Martinez near Flowing Wells Road.

Lanclos said the restaurant's location is near a busy intersection, with high visibility and traffic counts.

The business, he added, has a profitable revenue stream.

"It's a landmark property," he said. "It could be something else, but Side Track has always been a great place to grab a burger and a beer or a Coke."

The property is available for $895,000, Lanclos said. Included in the sale are the business's inventory, furniture and equipment.

"We've had some interest in it," said Lanclos, adding that he is entertaining all offers.

Large said that his Martinez home also is for sale and that he has already purchased a home in Texas.
