Pet Adoption Showcase
These pets are available for adoption from Columbia County Animal Services. For more information, call (706) 541-4077 or visit www.columbiacountyga.gov and follow the links to Animal Services. Adult animals cost $25 to adopt, and puppies and kittens cost $20. Animals must be spayed or neutered. Visitors must wear closed-in shoes to visit the kennel area, which is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. The facility is at 6337 Columbia Road in Appling.

Current Events
The Columbia County Civic Orchestra holds weekly rehearsals from 7:15 to 9:15 p.m. Mondays in the music suite at West Acres Baptist Church, 555 Gibbs Road, Evans. Returning and new musicians are welcome. The Youth Orchestra holds rehearsals from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursdays in the Augusta Christian band room, 313 Baston Road. On Vacation
Greg Brooks took a group to southern Ireland in June. One of the many places the group visited was the Blarney Castle. Mim Riley, Gene and Jane Strong, Teresa and Greg Brooks, Edna Awad, Bill Waters, Virginia Anne Strong, Betsy and Blake Seward, Tom Riley and Zach Brooks all took part in the nine-day trip.
