Chairman challenger won't get support if he won't back Pam Tucker

After reading Tom Mercer's comments in the July 7 News-Times, I immediately chose to re-assess my support for Brett McGuire.

The thought of losing Pam Tucker as Columbia County Emergency and Operations director is simply a stomach-turning event.

Tucker is an exemplary performer in our community and she sets the standards for the entire state of Georgia emergency management directors to emulate. Our county is more prepared and able to respond more positively in disaster-related incidents because of her skills and attention to the needs of Columbia County.

I strongly believe we will suffer greatly if a dismissal from duty falls upon this wonderful woman, and I believe anyone who has worked with Tucker would agree with me in this issue.

I feel very secure living under the "Tuckerdome." I will not support McGuire if he does not support Pam Tucker.
