Adult animals cost $25 to adopt and the adoption fee for puppies and kittens cost $20. All animals must be spayed or neutered. Visitors must wear closed-in shoes to visit the kennel area, which is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. The facility is located at 6337 Columbia Road in Appling.
Early and absentee voting in the July 20 primary is available 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays through Friday at the Columbia County Board of Elections office, Building E, 500 Faircloth Drive, Evans. Advance voting will be held July 12-16.
