Temporary editor

Next week's edition of The Columbia News will be edited and written by Marion Lee of Evans.

Lee, one-time writer of "Lee's Breeze," which appeared in this newspaper, currently writes for The Augusta Chronicle and the Bell Ringer, Augusta College's newspaper.

Lee has agreed to take over the Columbia County newspaper for one week to enable the editor and his family to visit relatives and attend the PGA Golf Tournament in Columbus, Ohio.

Milk plant opens

Brothers Buddy and Donald Tankersley of Evans are co-owners of a new dairy business in the community. The milk processing plant is under construction on Belair Road.

The two brothers were raised in the dairy business. Their father, Luther Tankersley Sr., has produced milk for other dealers and distributors for many years.
