The Columbia County Library is offering readers a chance to mingle with some local authors this weekend.

Several authors will be in the lobby of the library from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday.

The casual meet-and-greet will feature Gerrie Sobel, children's book author; Florence P. Brown, author of The Breezy Meadow: A Butterfly's Story ; Gail Oust, author of the Bunco Babes mystery series; and Charles David Reid, said library reference manager and event organizer Natalie Gibson.

Authors might sell or sign books or do readings, Gibson said.

She expects more authors to commit to participate in the event.

A vanity publisher and the Christian Writers Network also will be hand promoting local authors.

"If you've written your own book and you want to find out how to get your work published, it is a good opportunity check to on that, too," Gibson said.

For information, call the library at (706) 863-1946.
