Flag-to-flag winners dominate

During racing action Saturday at Grovetown's Gordon Park Speedway, Brandon Overton led from flag to flag to win in the Crate Late Model division, but David McCoy, who challenged for the lead, came from back in the field to take second place.

In the Super Street division, Andy Stewart's win streak ended when he was involved in an early crash and Jay Dunham drove hard to win the race.

For his first win of the season, veteran driver Johnny Crews led flag to flag to win in Stock V8, out-racing Jearmie Robertson, who finished second, and Chad Toole, who came in third.

In the Stock 4 class, Jason Baker powered his No. 44 to the win ahead of Bubba Koss and last year's Stock 4 champion Ken Appleton. In Road Warrior, Billy Grassmeyer won with Chuck Blackwell close behind. Clay Collins continued his dominance in the Extreme 4 Division, finishing ahead of Ben Newsome and John Whisnant.

Winner Carolyn Beard and second-place finisher Christine Richardson battled it out in the Powder Puff division.

SuperCross racing will headline the action at Gordon Park on Saturday while auto racing returns June 26.
