Headlining its first nationwide tour, Lady Antebellum will perform at James Brown Arena on Nov. 15. The concert will open with MCA recording artist David Nail.
Two-thirds of the pop-country group hail from Columbia County. Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood graduated from Lakeside High School in 2000. Vocalist Hillary Scott is the third member of the group.
Kelley and Haywood, along with Scott, returned to the county in 2008 to perform in a concert series. After that, the group surprised Lakeside students by performing at a pep rally.
In April, Lady Antebellum garnered five awards, including Top Vocal Group, Single Record of the Year and Song of the Year, from the Academy of Country Music. The group also won its first Grammy this year for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
Lady Antebellum's second album, Need You Now, has been certified double platinum, and produced the singles Need You Now and American Honey , which topped the Billboard magazine country singles chart.
The band's debut album, Lady Antebellum, released in 2007, generated the No. 1 I Run to You.
The tour starts Sept. 20, with the band scheduled to perform in 35 cities.
