Georgians seem to 'have little pride in appearance of their roads'

I live in this beautiful county which, unfortunately, has the most trashy roads and roadsides I have ever seen.

I have lived in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Texas, Colorado and Tennessee. Never before except in Columbia County have I seen such trash thrown out of vehicles.

I now carry a bag to my mailbox to pick up junk in my yard before getting my mail. The trash I see is of all types - bottles, drink containers, cigarette butts, fast food wrappers, napkins and papers.

It seems that native Georgians have little pride in the appearance of their roads and yards.

The perennial flowers I once planted near the road are now dead due to having been trampled by cars.
