Early voting

Early and absentee voting in the July 20 primary is available 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays through July 9 at the Columbia County Board of Elections office, Building E, 500 Faircloth Drive, Evans. Advance voting will take place July 12-16.

Pet adoptions

The Columbia County animal shelter, 6337 Columbia Road, Appling, will play host to a special pet adoption Monday-Friday with cats for $5 and dogs for $10, and a free engraved identification tag with each adoption. For information, go to www.columbiacountyga.gov.

Sierra Club

A program on swapping conventional cleaners for nontoxic, homemade recipes will take place at the meeting of the Sierra Club, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 3501 Walton Way Extension. For information, e-mail Judy Gordon at gordonjudith@att.net.

Outdoor movies

MCGHealth Children's Medical Center's Movies Under the Stars continues Friday with Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs at the Columbia County Amphitheater in Evans. Addiction help

Mosaic United Methodist Church's Celebrate Recovery program will hold information sessions from 7-8 p.m. each Friday with free coffee in August at Bean Baskette in the Columbia County Library.
