Keela Fruehling, with Community and Leisure Services, and Chief Marshal Shaun Brooks put flags in front of the Justice Center in honor of all Columbia County soldiers who have died in war. Volunteers from the Sheriff's Auxiliary and Georgia Army National Guard also helped place more that 600 flags in the lawn.

Girl Scouts share cookies
Girl scouts from Troop 20711 at Bel-Air Elementary School spent two hours talking to the wounded veterans at Fort Gordon and donated Girl Scout cookies to them. Candi and Larry Sprague, with daughter Jennifer, her husband Tom, and their children Carly, Alex, Emily, and Bennett participated in "Miles for Melanoma 5K Race" to raise funds for melanoma research. The event was held April 24 at Lake Olmstead. Candi placed third in her age division.
