Fifth annual Junior Achievement charity golf tournament will be held Thursday at Houndslake Country Club in Aiken. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Team and other sponsorships still available. Bartram Trail Golf Club will play host to a "Hurricane" Junior Golf Tour event Saturday and Sunday. This is a 36-hole event that will have American Junior Golf Association exemptions. The Augusta Elks Lodge will hold its annual golf tournament May 27 at Augusta Municipal Golf Course. Cost is $50 per golfer. Corporate and individual participants are welcome. Sign up will be at 11:30 a.m., followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Lunch will be provided, and dinner will be served after the tournament for the golfers. Golf car raffle
The Georgia RiverDawgs 10-Under travel ball team is raffling a four-passenger Club Car gas golf car with canopy top and windshield. Tickets are $5. The drawing will be held in June. Tickets can be purchased by calling (706) 945-4621.
Y registration

Flag football
The adult travel flag football team Showtime is looking for former high school and college football players to fill its roster. Indoor soccer clinic
An indoor soccer (futsal) clinic will be held Saturday at Patriots Park Gym. The clinic will feature classroom sessions, futsal-specific skill training, and organized games. The cost will be $15, and it will include a T-shirt. Ramp closure
The Wildwood Park ramps will be closed Thursday-Sunday for the ESPN fishing tournament. They will open again to the public Monday. For information, call (706) 541-3761.
Boating safety
The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Thurmond Lake will offer a family-oriented boating safety course Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Thurmond Dam Visitors Center, on Route 221 just on the South Carolina side of Thurmond Dam. Bring your lunch, as there will be a 30-minute lunch break. Completion of the course satisfies Georgia and South Carolina state boating safety education requirements. Most boat insurance companies give a discount after completion of a safety course. The class fee is $35 for an individual or $50 for a family and includes a textbook.
