Spaghetti dinner

A spaghetti dinner to help raise money for the medical bills of the family of an Evans Elementary School third-grader will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the school, with $5 meals available for dine-in or drive-through. A bake sale also will be held, and donations can also be made to the Messick Medical Fund at Georgia Bank and Trust.

Family fundraiser

A family fun night to benefit the Brody Johnson Fund will be held 4-9 p.m. Thursday at Putt-Putt in Martinez. For information, call (706) 364-2128.

Chamber event/p>

Georgia House Speaker David Ralston will be the guest speaker at the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce's Post-Legislative Breakfast at 7 a.m. Thursday at Savannah Rapids Pavilion. The breakfast is free for members and $20 for nonmembers. Register at www.columbia countychamber.com.

Jazz series

The Colors of Jazz series concludes at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Augusta Jewish Community Center in Evans with Geraldine Eisenberg. Tickets cost $10. For information, go to www. columbiacountyjazz.com.

Band fundraiser

Spring dance

VFW Post 6445 Ladies Auxiliary will hold a spring dance at the post, 6423 Wrightsboro Road, Harlem, at 5 p.m. Saturday. Tickets cost $8, or $12 per couple, with proceeds going to veterans programs. For information, call (706) 556-9194.

Pet adoptions

Purina and Heartsong Animal Rescue will hold an adoption event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Grovetown Walmart, with raffles, prizes and giveaways from Purina. A vaccination clinic, with one-year rabies vaccines for $5, will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with other services available.

Yard sale

The Rotary Club of Columbia County's Giant Columbia County Yard Sale will be held June 5 at the Columbia County Fairgrounds. Vendor spaces cost $25. For information, call Connie Redmond at (706) 863-5500.
