Columbia Elementary 'not only provides education; they make a difference'
As a child, I had the opportunity to be taught by some pretty remarkable teachers, one of whom forever impacted my life. As a child who struggled with figuring out who I was and who I wanted to be, with the assistance of peer pressure and the need to "fit in," I was fortunate to have had a teacher who helped me see my own potential.

Harlem High School Principal Dietmar Perez (right) presents a plaque with a game ball holder to baseball coach Jimmie Lewis after Wednesday's victory over Richmond Academy gave Lewis his 600th career win. Perez played for Lewis at Harlem, and his first start in 1979 was Lewis' first win. That game was also against Richmond Academy.
