Bike ride
The Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation will hold its seventh annual Best Dam Bike Ride for today at Thurmond Dam. The ride will have 25-, 58-, 80- and 100-mile options, and a 15- to 20-mile trail ride on Bartram Trail. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m., and the ride starts at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $30 per ride, with children 12 and younger riding free if accompanied by an adult. All proceeds benefit the foundation. Movie screening
Bicycle Dreams: The Race Across America will be screened at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Jabez Sanford Hardin Performing Arts Center to benefit Golden Harvest Food Bank. Golf tournaments
The Bartram Trail Men's Golf Association is holding its third annual Multiple Sclerosis Golf Tournament May 2 at Bartram Trail Golf Club. Registration is at noon, with a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start. Entry fee is $40 for club members and $65 for nonmembers. To sign up, fax (706) 210-4801.
The Symphony Orchestra Augusta Golf Classic will be held May 17 at Belle Meade Country Club in Thomson. Registration is $100 per persons older than 35, $75 per person for those 35 and younger and $400 for a foursome. Proceeds benefit the symphony's education and community engagement programs. Junior Achievement's fifth annual charity golf tournament will be held May 20 at Houndslake Country Club in Aiken. The Augusta Elks Lodge will hold its annual golf tournament May 27 at Augusta Municipal Golf Course. Cost is $50 per golfer. Corporate and individual participants are welcome.
