There's a murderer on the loose, and it'll be up to park guests to find out who it is during Mistletoe State Park's Murder on the Haunted Trail.
//
The event, slated for April 16-17, is being held following the request of several guests of September's Murder on Stage. That event had such a huge response that the park decided to offer a spring program.
"Following dinner and ghost stories around the campfire, our sleuths will scout the 'haunted trail,' said Marilyn Grau, a senior U.S. Army Corps of Engineers volunteer. "But the mystery they encounter will include more than ghosts and they're in for the most surprising revelation ever."
Participants will spend Saturday interviewing suspects, visiting the crime scene and gathering clues. Prizes will be awarded to those who figure out who the murderer is.
Grau recommends that participants wear comfortable shoes and bring a flashlight for a short and easy night walk. Cost of the weekend program, sponsored by the Senior Citizens Council of Greater Augusta, is $39, which will cover three meals, program materials and prizes for winners.
Participation is limited to the first 25 people to register before Friday.
For information or to request a registration form, call Grau at (706) 868-0120 or email her at MGrau@SeniorCitizens Council.org.
