Easter hunt held

Mrs. B.B. Mangum conducted an Easter Egg hunt at her home Easter Sunday afternoon for the nursery, beginner and junior departments of Grove Baptist Church.

There were about 60 children present with about 20 parents accompanying. Those finding silver eggs were Ann Inglett, Pamela Huffman and Donna Middlebrook.

VFW picks officers

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6445 of Harlem recently elected post officers.

Lloyd L. McCurdy was elected post commander; Andy Hair, senior vice commander; Billie Chaney, junior vice commander; Harold Jones, post quartermaster; Ray Owens, post advocate; Luther Whitaker, chaplain; John Fulcher, surgeon; and Thomas Swift, three-year trustee.
