Turkey shoot

Riverview United Methodist Church will hold a turkey shoot from 5-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The shoot will benefit the church's building fund. Cost is $5 per shot, and shells will be provided. For information, visit www.riverviewumc.org.
Golf tournament
Augusta Christian Schools will hold its annual golf tournament with lunch at noon Friday at Bartram Trail Golf Club followed by a 1:15 p.m. shotgun start.
Proceeds will benefit the school's athletic program. Corporate and individual participants are welcome, and corporate hole sponsors are needed.

Flag football
Augusta Prep and NFL FLAG Football will offer a youth flag football league for boys and girls ages 5-12. Practices and games will be held Sunday afternoons from April 18 until May 23. An informational meeting will be held March 28 at 2 p.m. in Prep's football field.

Free tennis lessons
Petersburg Racquet Club is offering free beginner tennis lessons for adults and juniors. Adult lessons will be held March 25 and April 1 from 7- 8:30 p.m. A free junior lesson will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Harlem Middle School will hold a community yard sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the school parking lot. The event will benefit the school's athletic booster club.

Boating safety
A seven-hour boating safety course will be offered by the Corps of Engineers and Coast Guard Auxiliary at 8:30 a.m. March 27 at the Thurmond Dam Visitors Center on the South Carolina side of the dam. Cost is $35 or $50 for an entire family, and the fee includes a textbook.

River trip
Savannah Riverkeeper will offer a two-day trip on the Savannah River on April 17-18 as an educational opportunity for local middle school students. The cost of the trip is $75 per person and will be limited to the first 40 students who sign up.
At the end of the trip, the student who writes the best report will win a new laptop.
