This week as I pruned some shrubs, I noticed a white powdery substance on the back of some holly leaves. This was a type of scale. As I looked around, I noticed some waxy blobs on my Japanese magnolia. The blobs were wax scale.

Federal stimulus funds will buy vans, software
Columbia County recently was awarded nearly $225,000 in federal stimulus funds from the Georgia Department of Transportation to upgrade the rural transit system.

Devon Baulkman poured in a game-high 33 points Friday night to lead the Bainbridge Bearcats to a 68-59 victory over the Evans High School Knights in the Sweet 16 round of the Class AAAA basketball tournament.
Pride Athletics will hold an adult one-pitch softball tournament Friday and Saturday at Dayspring Baptist Church, 4220 Frontage Road, Augusta. Cost is $175 per team. Proceeds will go to Pride Athletics.
