Ignoring lessons of Eastern Europe, America 'drifting toward socialism'

Socialism is an economic and political system advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods and services. Marxist socialism goes on to eliminate private property and have means of production owned and controlled by the state, plus government control of work and pay. This results in a Communist state and dictatorship.

The effect on people's lives under government control and regulation after nearly 50 years of Soviet domination over Eastern European countries has been depressing and pathetic.

It has been 20 years now that East Germany, formerly Communist East Germany, had to learn self-motivation and educational skills to move up to West German standards. Yet there is still a gap.

America is now drifting toward socialism, government control and the entitlement society. All this has a numbing effect on the uneducated masses to depend on government solutions rather than personal responsibility. ...
