Justin M. Keegan , of Grovetown, has earned the chef de cuisine (CCC) designation from the American Culinary Federation Inc. Keegan is sous chef at Augusta National Golf Club and a member of ACF National Chapter.

Local poet published

Sharon D. Schroeder, of Evans, wife of retired Col. James T. Schroder and an English teacher at Augusta Technical College, is publishing her collection of original poetry, titled Saltwater Blues: Snapshots of a Military Family .

The book of poems describe her life as an "Army brat." Her father was a non-commissioned officer for 23 years and her husband served for 36 years. The book is available for purchase at Barnes and Noble and Amazon.com.

Name change

Hull, Towill, Norman, Barrett and Salley, P.C. has changed the name of the firm to Hull Barrett, PC. The firm is located in Augusta and Aiken, and is opening a third office in Evans this spring.
