Don't forget: Your help still needed in Haiti

Shaken but not forgotten: That's the slogan Life Ministries International of Martinez has adopted for its outreach to the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti.

//

Church staffers, who were in Haiti when the quake hit, are raising money for a return trip to continue their efforts at relief for the impoverished nation. Helping them with that mission is as easy as visiting their Web site at www.lifeaugusta.com.

Others in the faith community are reaching out, too. Covenant United Methodist Church in Evans is holding a "Hearts for Haiti" concert and art sale at 6 p.m. Feb. 6, with all proceeds going to the United Methodist Committee on Relief. They can be reached at (706) 496-3623. Mosaic UMC, also in Evans, is collecting donations and health kits for victims; they can be reached at (706) 877-6468.

Obviously these are only the tip of the iceberg, as most churches are responding to this humanitarian need - as churches always do.

We urge you to get on board to help. Don't forget.
