Youth Challenge graduates

Eight Columbia County teens graduated from the National Guard-sponsored Youth Challenge Academy on Dec. 19 at commencement ceremonies in Macon. Chandler Bradley , Nolan Lowe , Robert Rotger and Joshua Holiday of Martinez; Justin Maynard and Brandon Maynard of Harlem; Raashid Rocke of Grovetown; and Chase Shiver of Evans were among 209 graduates of the Fort Stewart-based Youth Challenge Academy who successfully completed the 22-week, in-residence program for at-risk youth.

Clayton State fall Dean's List

Amber Taheera Dunn, a resident of Martinez, was named to the fall 2009 Dean's List at Clayton State University.
