Soccer registration

The Columbia County recreation department will hold spring soccer registration through Jan. 22. Registration can be done at Patriots Park administrative offices or by mail. Previous participants may register online at www.columbiacountyga.gov. Cost for county residents is $60 for the first child, $50 for the second child and $40 for the third child. Cost for out-of-county residents is double. For information, call (706) 863-7523.

The Marshall Family Y will hold its spring soccer registration until Jan. 29. Registration is open to boys and girls ages 3-10. Those interested can register at www.thefamilyy.org or at any YMCA branch. The Family Y is also looking for volunteer coaches and paid referees. 5k run

The Jordan River Foundation 5K Classic will be held Jan. 23 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Lakeside High track. Cost is $20 and includes a shirt and brunch.
