Silent auction

The Lakeside High School Diamond Club and the American Cancer Society Relay for Life will hold a silent auction at the school Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Participants can preview and place bids Friday from 5-9 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Relay for Life and the Lakeside baseball program.

Rowing team

The Augusta Junior Rowing Team is accepting members. No experience is necessary, and potential members can participate for two weeks before deciding whether to join. Practices are held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 4-6:30 p.m. at The Boathouse on Riverfront Drive in Augusta. The team is open to ages 13-18. Coast Guard Auxiliary meets

Park cleanup

Columbia County Adopt-a-Stream will hold a cleanup at Reed Creek Park from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. Participants should bring boots or hip waders if available. T-shirts and snacks will be provided. For information, e-mail gaccaas@hotmail.com.

Survival class

Reed Creek Park, off Furys Ferry Road in Martinez, will hold a wilderness survival program for ages 10 and older from 1-2 p.m. Saturday. The program is free to members and costs $2 for nonmembers. Pre-registration is required. For information on all classes at Reed Creek Park, call (706) 210-4027.
