I often hear people say "Please support our troops," and I'm sure there are many people who wonder just how to do that. Well, here is one specific way that your readers can support our troops and their families. It's called the Trees for Troops program.
Run by the non-profit Christmas SPIRIT Foundation, along with corporate partner FedEx Corp., the program has delivered more than 50,000 real Christmas trees to military families across the nation and around the world during the past four years.
Carter Christmas Tree Farm is continuing its support of this effort by donating trees and allowing our patrons to sponsor tree purchases for our local military families. Your readers can show their support by visiting a participating Christmas tree farm or lot to purchase a real tree for a military family.
This year, many farms and lots will be offering this opportunity - visit www.treesfortroops.org to find a location near you or to make a donation directly to the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation. When you visit the site, don't forget to leave a message for the troops!
Next time someone says, "We should show our support to our troops," you can say, "I just did, and won't you join me?" I encourage your readers to get involved and spread the Christmas spirit this holiday season through the Trees for Troops program! Go to www.treesfortroops.org or www.cartertreefarm.com to learn more.
