The Christmas in America Festival, the lighting of the official Columbia County Christmas tree, will be from 3-7 p.m. Saturday at the Columbia County Amphitheater in Evans. The 45th annual Martinez-Evans Christmas Parade will begin at 2 p.m. Dec. 6.
Senior seminars

Libraries closed
All three Columbia County libraries remain closed today for Thanksgiv-ing holidays, and will reopen at 10 a.m. Monday.

Vogtle vendors
A series of meetings to provide information to local vendors seeking to be suppliers for new construction at Plant Vogtle will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Burke County High School in Waynesboro, and at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Augusta Marriott. To register, go to www.georgiapower.com/supplier/.

Free trees at Fort
About 500 Christmas trees will be given to Fort Gordon military families Tuesday, courtesy of the Christmas Spirit Foundation, representing tree growers and FedEx. The trees will be available to military ID holders in the parking lot next to the Fort Gordon Dinner Theater afrom bout 8-10 a.m., depending on the arrival of the FedEx truck.
